Frequently Asked Questions

General Service Questions

What is Tactic IQ and how is it different from traditional coaching?

Tactic IQ specializes in individualized tactical analysis, focusing on helping players understand the game at a deeper, decision-making level. While most tactical coaching focuses on team systems, we focus on how individual players perceive situations and make decisions. Our small player-to-coach ratio allows for highly personalized development not typically possible in club environments.

Who are the coaches behind Tactic IQ?

All Tactic IQ coaches are UEFA-licensed (minimum UEFA B) and currently work in Category-1 academies or professional adult teams in England, Spain, or Italy. Individual analysis sessions are conducted only by UEFA A or Pro–equivalent coaches. Sessions are available in English, Spanish, or Italian.

What kind of video footage is used in sessions?

We use a combination of player-submitted match clips and curated footage from our professional tactical video library. Our clips come from tactical camera angles (not standard broadcast views) to ensure full-field visibility for analysing spatial cues, off-ball actions, and tactical context.

What age or level is this service designed for?

Our services are best suited for players aged 13 and up, due to the conceptual nature of tactical learning. For younger players, we offer one-on-one sessions with adapted content — but they are not eligible for group sessions.

Do you work with goalkeepers?

No — our video library and analysis approach are tailored exclusively to outfield players.

Can I book a trial before committing?

Yes. We offer a free introductory call to assess your goals, strengths, and current understanding, and to recommend the best service tier. You’ll also complete tactical option selection clips to evaluate fit and learning style.

Are sessions online or in-person?

All sessions are delivered live online via secure video call.

Do you work directly with clubs?

No — to avoid any conflict of interest, we work only with individual players, not clubs.

Small-Group Sessions

How are small-group sessions different from individual sessions?

Group sessions focus on broader tactical principles tied to specific positions, while individual sessions are fully customized to the player’s submitted clips and development needs.

Are group sessions live or recorded?

All group sessions are live. We believe active engagement is key to effective learning.

How many players are in a group session?

A maximum of four players per group ensures high engagement and interactive analysis.

Can I choose the topic or position focus?

We group players by position and adapt session topics based on group needs and individual assessments using in-session quizzes and interactive video clips.

Will I receive a session recording?

Yes — you’ll receive a full session recording within 24 hours, along with at-home review materials.

Individual Sessions (Premium Tier)

What do I need to provide for a session?

Send us a .zip folder of short clips (not full matches) from your recent games — both on-ball and off-ball actions. We use these to build the session content and find relevant professional reference clips. Clips must be submitted at least 72 hours before the session.

Can you analyse full matches?

No — for Premium sessions, we require players to submit pre-cut clips.

How do you choose reference clips?

We select clips based on your role, playing style, and tactical situation, drawing from our internal library of professional examples. We also consider your preferred teams or players where applicable.

Do Premium clients get access to group sessions?

Yes — Premium clients get group session access equal to the number of individual sessions purchased.

When will I receive feedback?

You’ll receive a session recording within 24 hours, along with optional in-home exercises and review clips.

Are these sessions suitable for pro players?

Absolutely. Premium sessions use the same core methods as our Pro tier, minus the full-match analysis and advanced data profiling.

Pro-Level Profiling & Data

What do I need to provide for Pro sessions?

If your matches and performance data are available on WyScout, we’ll handle everything. If not, just send us your most recent full match 72 hours before your session.

How often are profiles and dashboards updated?

• Internal models (used for reference player identification): updated mid-season and end-of-season
• Client dashboards: updated after each valid match, plotted against 6-match and seasonal averages

What kind of data do you use?

We use event and positional data from WyScout, combined with our custom KPIs, to build player dashboards and tactical profiles. This ensures accuracy and consistency with professional scouting standards.

Can I use this service without existing data access?

Yes — we’ll adapt the service to your context, which we’ll discuss during your intro call.
